How Our Values Led Us Through 2025
2025 has been a year overflowing with energy for us at Maier. A year of trying new things, upskilling, travelling, experimenting, refining, and meeting more new clients than we ever expected. As we reach the end of it, we’re taking a moment not just to reflect, but to reconnect with why this work matters to us.
Because through every coaching conversation, every workshop, every late-night design sprint our values have sat quietly at the centre of it all. They’re not slogans. They’re anchors
Launching something big (and quietly huge): our online learning platform
One of our proudest achievements this year was the soft launch of our online learning platform. It started as an idea sketch, became a prototype, and then, thanks to a lot of testing, refining and debate, became a living part of the Maier experience.
Offering this flexible, blended learning approach has been a long-term ambition for us. Leadership development needs to meet people where they are, and this platform allows us to do just that. We’ve launched to a select group of clients so far, with a wider roll-out planned for 2026.
Strengthening our work with Insights Discovery — starting with ourselves
We’ve always believed self-awareness is a key foundation of leadership. This year we doubled down on that by revisiting Insights Discovery internally, exploring how our values play out across our colour energies and how that shapes the way we collaborate as Team Maier.
Our team day produced one of our favourite artefacts of the year: a board mapping our values to our Insights profiles. It’s playful, honest and, in places, disarmingly revealing. Exactly what good team development should be.
Growing in sectors that are growing fast
A big shift this year has been the number of Fintech and Data organisations coming to us for support. These environments move fast. People take on responsibility early. And teams are often distributed, hybrid and building as they go.
This work requires some of what we value most:
- Fearlessness
- Original thinking
- Generosity of spirit
Helping leaders find clarity and confidence in ambiguity is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Learning, curiosity and snakes (really)
If we had to choose a word for 2025, “curiosity” might win.
We immersed ourselves in AI learning, read widely, debated how leadership will evolve, and thought about how human-centred leadership remains essential in an AI-enabled world. We also made sure we networked more than ever – meeting new contacts, making new friends, asking lots of questions, always with the aim of learning more and broadening our perspective. Curiosity isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we actively practice.
We also had moments that reminded us not to take ourselves too seriously, as illustrated in this pic of Ella, Director of Maier, which we think also sums up our value of Fearlessness perfectly… (and no, this is not AI generated, we promise!)
Giving back, and the small joyful moments
From our charity walk and trail run with Little Lifts to afternoon teas, sunflower competitions and creative team exercises, this year has held many joyful moments that have nothing to do with strategy decks or leadership models. We simply love being there for what we feel really matters.
What 2025 taught us about our values
If we had to distil the year into a handful of lessons:
- Generosity of spirit creates trust faster than any model or methodology.
- Total honesty is the heart of great coaching and team development
- Resoluteness matters, especially in long term change programmes.
- Original thinking is essential in a world that is pivoting fast.
- Fearlessness isn’t loud, it’s steady, clear and brave.
- Genuine passion is contagious.
Looking ahead to 2026
Next year, we’re excited to be:
- Expanding our online learning platform
- Doing more with psychometric-based leadership development
- Supporting even more clients in tech, digital and scaling environments
- Offering new workshops and experiences rooted in values-based leadership
- Writing, reflecting and sharing through our “News & Insights” series
Leadership in 2026 is going to require clarity, being firmly grounded, courage and creativity. We’re energised and we’re ready to share that journey with you
Here’s to 2026 – when ‘change to be proud of’ is going to feature even more.
