Understanding hybrid working environments.
Helping leaders and managers develop the skills and capabilities for a successful approach to hybrid working.
Unless you happen to be Amazon or Zoom, for many of us just making it through the past couple of years is achievement enough, and 2022 will continue to expect more from us. For many organisations having delivered so much in 2021, this means digging deeper than ever.
This is where Maier’s portfolio of 90 minute virtual events for leaders and managers comes into its own – our short but powerful facilitated sessions provide the opportunity for leaders and managers to ‘take a breath’, share experiences, exchange ideas, develop thinking and hone new leadership skills – all in timeframes that allow you to balance development with the continuing day to day demands.
Designed to provide a supportive, thought-provoking and creative space for teams and leaders when they need it most.

Digital or face to face, our Maier values remain as strong as ever. Facilitation for us isn’t about doggedly sticking to the agenda – it’s about staying fluid, working with what’s happening in the ‘room’ (virtual as it is sometimes) and drawing on all our experience and expertise to respond to what we’re seeing and hearing in the moment. Delegates have told us just how important the skills of Maier facilitators are in the virtual settings.
Our workshops are constantly evolving; guided by ongoing conversations with clients and a network of senior leaders and associates. Designed to explore the most topical issues that are front of mind for many as we continue to navigate through this period.
We’re all for theories and models, but we know they have to be grounded in reality if they’re really going to cut it in business. Our workshops provide the right balance of big picture thinking, with practical strategies and tools, ensuring delegates leave ready to put what they’ve discussed into action.
Whether we’re working with, managers or leaders new to role, the design of our workshops, along with expert facilitation, means we get to the heart of the matter – fast. We’re able to shift through the gears when we need to, making sure our 90 minute sessions are high-energy and thought provoking but still relevant for all levels across the organisation.
Hybrid is not simply a location shift, it is a mindset shift which requires a different set of leadership skills and capabilities than the ‘old work way’.
With hybrid and blended working increasingly becoming ‘how we do things around here’ we’re seeing first-hand the opportunities and challenges this presents as organisations transition to new ways of working.
Teams we are working with have found that hybrid isn’t an end point, but rather an opportunity to try and test out options and ideas – an evolving collaboration between organisation and staff
Our latest workshop, ‘Understanding Hybrid Working Environments’, explores both the practicalities and potential pitfalls of hybrid – bringing groups of managers and leaders together to understand what successful hybrid looks like on a personal and organisational level.
Hybrid workshops also provide the opportunity for us to gather data from sessions and feed this back to senior leaders, helping them to continue to shape their hybrid strategy and communications.
These imaginatively curated workshops can be delivered either as stand-alone initiatives or as a series of ‘leadership conversations’, each one building on from the last.
Resilience isn’t something reserved for a special few, resilience is within all of us if we know where to look for it and how to recognise it. Which is why our workshop focuses on ways to help everyone to grow, nurture and, most importantly of all, protect their resilience.
No matter what change we experience, emotions will undoubtedly be part of the journey. In this workshop we explore how change can make us feel, why sometimes it’s OK to simply acknowledge our emotions and ways we can manage them as we work our way through the change process.
Our wellbeing session focuses on how to reframe, reset and resize some of the more overwhelming aspects of this period as well as ways to promote a more positive mindset.
For those with global teams, leadership from a distance will be familiar, but remote leadership on this scale is new to everyone. Our workshop discusses what we’ve learned through leading remotely, how we can fine tune these skills as we move to more blended working practices and why ‘visible leadership’ is more important than ever.
Empathy isn’t the same as being nice or kind (although you can be all three). What empathy is, is a genuinely powerful leadership skill that can help you get the very best from your people and in the process help create a high-performing environment that not only helps to attract the best but then ensures you keep them.
As well as our pre-designed workshops, we also specialise in creating bespoke programmes and events tailored specifically to your team and organisational needs.
We’d love to hear from you, whatever your leadership challenge
